Search for Planet X: 1-4 Players, Ages 13+, 60-75 minutes, Deduction Game

For the last hundred years, astronomers have been on the hunt for a distant planet to explain the unusual orbits within our solar system. In "The Search for Planet X," designed by Ben Rosset and Matthew O’Malley, with art by Michael Pedro and James Masino, players step into the shoes of astronomers as they use observations and logic to locate this elusive planet.

In each game, a companion app generates a random arrangement of objects and a potential location for Planet X based on specific logical rules. Throughout the rounds, players track the earth's movement around the sun, utilizing the app to scan for objects and participate in conferences. As they gather information about object locations, players record their deductions on sheets. Once they have a good grasp on the object locations, players can start forming and publishing theories. When a player is confident they know the location of Planet X and the objects surrounding it, they can use the app to conduct a search. The game concludes when a player successfully discovers Planet X, followed by a final scoring opportunity for all players.
